Task 1: Self-Assessment

Its a Sunday and I'm feeling a bit motivated to really organize my life.

While browsing the net I landed into a wealth of self-improvement information that led to the creation of this blog. There was this series of workbooks at Oprah's site that I believe will help a lot in my quest to bring out this "hero" within me that's screaming and clawing to get out of its hard shell.

So to start with, here I am taking the first step in this new venture - Self-Assessment. Here it goes:

1. What is working in my life:
  • My creativity. It has been very active lately in a long while after my crash 2 years ago.
  • My Networks. Since I've again been active in certain circles and joining new ones, I have developed some pretty good contacts presently. I'm confident this will continue as I go on with my networking activities.
2. These areas could be better:
  • Income - Need to develop active and passive income further
  • Business - I need to follow-through with my businesses more aggressively. Be more pro-active, time-bound. Employ S.M.A.R.T. in working on my goal-dreams.
  • Health - Energy, Aesthetics
  • Self-Fulfillment/Actualization - I have to reach my goal-dreams. I feel I'm not living up to my potential.
  • My Kids - I need to have a better relationship with them and provide for them better.
 3. If I don't address these issues, what will they look  and feel like 1 year from now?
  • Income - Still Financially Unstable and Unfulfilled. Family will suffer. Emotional turmoil.
  • Business - Still struggling, if I don't get my act together this 2014.
  • Health - I'm not that young anymore. Disease could manifest at any moment if I continue disregarding my health with bad habits - smoking, irregular sleep, mindless diet.
  • Self-Fulfillment/Actualization - Much more Un-happiness...
  • My Kids - Ugh.
4. ... 5 years?
  • I don't even wanna go there anymore. The buck stops here.
5. 25 years?
  • I may not still be alive by that time. And what would I have left the world? My kids? No. Enough is enough. I'm my hero this year.
6. Which area concerns me the most?
  • My kids. I want them to have the best future I can give them. Financial and spiritual gifts.
FRAME CHALLENGE POSITIVELY

1. Through hard work, professionalism, creativity and smart actions I will achieve business and financial success - Will allow me to fulfill a lot of my goal-dreams, most importantly, provide for my children a more secure present and future.

2.  How will I feel once I've created this? - I can visualize that I will feel immensely positive. Just imagining it gets me fired up.

3. What can I think and do to dial up this feeling state right now? - Visualizations. Create and review my dream board regularly.

Just What Is A Hero?

- Always prefers to do what is good.
- Is an example of what is best in humanity.
- Whether in big or small ways, a hero benefits individuals and society
- Is action-oriented.
- Brings out the best in other people. Inspires and encourages the heroes in other people to manifest themselves
- Knows when to "sacrifice" his own interests for the betterment of others or the larger community.
- Does not "corrupt", or bring out the "bad" in people.
